JCC 2026 programme

The 37th edition's selection is not published as of 12 October 2026. Here are the confirmed sections, the expected calendar, and what a JCC week looks like so you can plan yours.

Where the programme stands

Film submissions are closed: 22 September for the four official competitions, 5 October for Visions+, 10 October for Cinema du Monde. The selection committees are at work; no list of films has been made public.

In 2025 the official selection was presented at a press conference in late November, and the full grid of screenings, hall by hall and day by day, went online on jcc.tn in the first week of December. We publish the grid here the same day, with the Tunisian films flagged.

What a JCC week looks like

The 2025 edition screened about 165 films, 96 features and 69 shorts, from some twenty countries, with 46 Tunisian films. Screenings run from about 10am to 10pm in the halls of the Cite de la Culture, four to five films a day per hall. Competition films are generally shown twice.

Beside the competitions, the thematic sections of 2025 were: young Arab cinema, panorama of Tunisian cinema, guest cinemas, JCC Classics and its restorations, Focus Palestine, Green Cinema. Masterclasses and meetings with the crews are scheduled every day, most of them free.

The JCC also leave Tunis: in 2025 screenings took place in the cultural centres of Fernana, Slimane, Sidi Bouali, Ghannouch and Gafsa, as well as in prisons and barracks.

Planning your week

  • The programme comes out late: plan your evenings, not your films. The grid lands about ten days before the opening.
  • Evening screenings of the fiction competition fill up the day the box office opens; morning screenings and documentaries stay available.
  • Each competition film is shown twice: when the first is full, the second rarely is.
  • The opening and closing ceremonies were by invitation at previous editions; they are broadcast on Tunisian television.
  • Tunisian films reach cinemas in the weeks after the festival: those of the 2026 edition will be listed on our Tunisian films page.
