The International Sahara Festival of Douz is one of Tunisia's oldest festivals and the largest Saharan cultural gathering in North Africa. Nicknamed the "gateway to the Sahara", Douz hosts this spectacular event every winter.

The festival celebrates the nomadic traditions of southern Tunisia through camel races, greyhound races, horse fantasias, traditional wrestling and folk performances. It is a true homage to the Bedouin culture that shaped this region.

With over a century of history, the Sahara Festival has become a major tourist event, attracting visitors from around the world eager to discover the authenticity of Saharan life.
