Kelibia, Nabeul
A fortress on a rocky headland above Kelibia, founded in the 4th century BC, rebuilt by the Byzantines, turned into a ribat and given most of its present layout after the Zirids retook it from the Normans in 1112. Covering about 1.5 hectares, it is one of the largest fortresses in the Islamic world.
