The park around Tunisia's highest mountain, 1544 m Jebel ech Chambi, with holm oak and Aleppo pine on the slopes and one of the last refuges of Cuvier's gazelle. Since 2014 the massif has been a closed military zone and is not open to visitors.

A PERMIT IS NEEDED TO VISIT

- Closed. The mountain was declared a closed military zone in April 2014 after operations against armed groups, and access is barred.
- SEASON
- Closed to visitors; check the current security situation before planning anything in the Kasserine highlands.
- RULES
- Mines have been laid on the massif. Do not enter, and do not leave surfaced roads in the surrounding area.
