Mahfel Room 3.0 - Electro Sufi Opera | Release & Mapping

Mahfel Room is a series of musical creations that merge traditional music with contemporary music, held in iconic monuments across Tunisia with the aim of revalorizing our tangible and intangible heritage.

Beyond the release, the audience is invited into a fully immersive experience through exhibitions, immersive installations, workshops, and talks.

Edition 3.0 -

Dawan, Dali Chebil & Maram Bouhbal present an exclusive live creation that blends Tunisian Sufi music with experimental electronic music and opera. The night begins with an exploration of the historical site through immersive light and sound installations as if you stepped into it in 1750. Then comes the unveiling of the exclusive musical creation along with an immersive mapping in the astonishing interior space.

Location : Medersa El Bachia — an 18th-century Quranic school in the heart of the Medina of Tunis. Built in 1752 under Ali I Pasha, it was originally dedicated to Hanafi religious education, providing living quarters, a huge prayer room, a courtyard and a library for students studying Islamic law and scripture.

What to expect :

• Immersive Experience – The stage is suspended at the centre of the monument, allowing the audience to admire the monument from every angle.

• Immersive Mapping – Tunisian Sufism roots in motion - a mini-doc and exclusive visuals from renowned religious sites in Tunisia.

• Exhibition of immersive light and sound installations – A reawakening of all the site's spaces - the courtyard, the living quarters and the ablution area.
