Kamilya Jubran, biography

Kamilya Jubran is a Palestinian singer, oud and qanun player and composer based in Paris.

She began in Jerusalem as lead singer and qanun player of the ensemble Sabreen, which she worked with from 1982 to 2002, and has since collaborated with Werner Hasler on experimental projects and with Sarah Murcia on several albums. She co-founded Zamkana, a non-profit education initiative for Arabic musicians, and in 2018 launched the Sodassi residency.
