Liliane Chlela, biography

Liliane Chlela is an electronic producer, DJ and performer born in Beirut and based in Montreal, a key figure of Lebanon's experimental and electronic scenes and co-founder of the Beirut collective Jidariyya.

She builds improvised soundscapes from synths, samplers, pedals, guitar and field recordings, and her solo albums include Malign/Benign (2020), Safala (2021) and Anatomy of a Jerk (Infinite Machine, 2024). She has performed at MUTEK, Rewire and Roskilde; her commissioned piece I, the Hybrid and the Antidote, produced through Mophradat's Consortium Commissions, premiered at Le Guess Who? 2024 with Nancy Mounir, Radwan Ghazi Moumneh and the Flare Quartet.
