Charles Brecard, biographie

Charles Brecard is a dance artist, choreographer, poet and sports massage therapist born in New Caledonia (Kanaky) to a family of Vietnamese descent, based between Montreal, where he has lived since 2013, and Paris.

A graduate of L'Ecole de danse contemporaine de Montreal, he developed FLUIDIFY, a practice bridging traditional, contemporary and street dance with bodywork, and has danced for companies including Parts+Labour_Danse, Animals of Distinction and Montreal Danse. His solo Il pleut, il plaint, il rage won first prize for best choreography at the Internationales Solo Tanz Theater Stuttgart in 2023 and has toured internationally since; he has also created commissions for the Wroclaw Opera Ballet and co-founded the Montreal community project Le Bercail.
