A look back at Mahfel Room’s artistic residency and the creative journey where traditional music meets electronic expression. The artist and the founder reflect on key stages of the process — from deep immersion to the shaping of sound textures — revealing how a hybrid work gradually comes to life.

10 March : Workshop - Heritage documentation through Photography w/ Zayene Bechir :

How to document, narrate, and share a cultural experience, with a particular focus on heritage. This session explores the tools, methods, and storytelling choices that help convey the value of a place, a project, or an artistic approach to audiences, partners, and institutions.

12 March : Immersive Sensorial Journey w/ Jathb & Yaensen :

Step into a sensorial journey where live Sufi music meets spirituality. Set within the intimate atmosphere of the Medersa Bachia, the evening opens with a collective immersive experience led by Yaensen, centered on sound and voice, inviting deep listening and release. The experience then unfolds into a mini-concert by Jathb, guiding the audience through an inner journey shaped by sound and immersive installations.

Location : Medersa El Bachia — an 18th-century Quranic school in the heart of the Medina of Tunis. Built in 1752 under Ali I Pasha, it was originally dedicated to Hanafi religious education, providing living quarters, a huge prayer room, a courtyard and a library for students studying Islamic law and scripture.
